About Demarc Land Surveying & Engineering
Demarc Land Surveying & Engineering is a third-generation, family-owned land surveying and civil engineering firm in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Raymond Prasch, a registered land surveyor, cofounded it in 1962 as Lot Surveys Company, Inc., working at first from the basement of his Twin Cities home. His son Greg and grandson Jeff now own the company. Jeff Prasch is CEO and is licensed as a land surveyor in Minnesota and as a professional engineer in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Demarc’s work spans residential, commercial, industrial and institutional clients. Its surveying practice covers ALTA/NSPS surveys, commercial and residential boundary surveys, topographic mapping and construction staking. Its civil engineering practice covers commercial and residential development, site design and stormwater management.
It appears in this directory because it performs the ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey that commercial lenders and title insurers ask for before closing.
Services Offered
ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey
Demarc’s ALTA page is aimed at commercial transactions. The firm says it reviews the title commitment first, verifies critical elements in the field, and coordinates with lenders, attorneys and title companies so the survey meets their requirements before it is submitted. It handles single-site properties up to complex multi-parcel developments, on sites from 1 to more than 200 acres, and says it works to the current ALTA/NSPS standards, including the 2026 updates.
Delivery model: in-house. Demarc’s team page lists registered land surveyors, and its CEO is a licensed Minnesota surveyor. There is no sign of the coordinator model, where a firm subcontracts the fieldwork to other surveyors.
Reviewing the title commitment first matters because the commitment’s Schedule B exceptions list the recorded easements and other documents the surveyor must locate and show on the plat. Our guide to Schedule B exceptions on your survey explains what to check on the finished drawing.
Demarc’s own FAQ notes that pricing depends on property size, site conditions, title requirements and research, and that an accurate price needs the title commitment and the Table A requirements. Have both ready when you ask for a quote.
Other Surveying and Engineering Services
- Commercial and residential boundary surveys
- Topographic mapping surveys
- Commercial staking and house staking
- Land development surveying
- Civil engineering: commercial and residential development, site design and planning, and stormwater management
Demarc does not list Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments among its services. If your lender needs one, see Phase 1 ESA providers in Minnesota and our Minnesota Phase 1 ESA cost page.
Service Area
Demarc works from Minneapolis and says it serves clients across Minnesota, which is the state recorded on this listing. Its website has dedicated pages for Minneapolis and St. Paul, and its ALTA articles focus on the Twin Cities. For a property in Greater Minnesota, ask how the field work would be staffed.
What to Expect
Demarc quotes per job. Its ALTA page gives a general range for ALTA surveys in Minnesota, but that describes the market rather than Demarc’s own rate, so this listing does not show it as Demarc’s price. Acreage, Table A items, property type and lender requirements will set your number. For typical market prices, see our Minnesota ALTA survey cost page and the Minneapolis ALTA survey cost page.

- Developers who will need site design and stormwater engineering after closing

Prices are what each firm publishes on its own website. "Quote only" means the firm offers the service and publishes no rate, which is the norm. "Our read" is our own three-way band across the customer review sources we hold for each firm, not any platform's score restated. Each provider page names the sources behind it.
