About DCL Surveying & Mapping
DCL Surveying & Mapping, LLC is a family-owned land surveying practice serving Connecticut, New York and Massachusetts. Its homepage leads with the combination that matters for commercial due diligence: boundary, ALTA/NSPS, topographic, construction and geospatial surveying across all three states.
That tri-state footprint is the practical reason to shortlist them. A great many surveyors in the Northeast are licensed in one state, which turns a two-property deal straddling a state line into two procurements with two schedules. DCL covers the Connecticut, New York and Massachusetts corner as one firm.
What they say sets them apart
The firm’s own positioning is continuity of the person doing the work: “Every project is personally managed by experienced professional surveyors, not passed from one department to another.” It also states 65+ years of combined surveying experience, which is a staff total rather than company age, and describes itself as family-owned.
Read that as the counterweight to a national vendor. On a single asset in Connecticut or western Massachusetts, a firm where the surveyor who scoped the job is the one who seals the drawing is often faster than a coordinated national programme. On a fifteen-property multi-state portfolio it is the wrong shape, and nationwide single-vendor providers covers why.
Equipment
The published stack is robotic total stations, GNSS/GPS, UAV/drone, LiDAR and GIS. Drone and LiDAR capability is worth knowing about specifically for Table A Item 15, which the 2026 ALTA/NSPS standards rewrote around imagery: features away from the boundary may be shown from imagery, but only where the surveyor has agreed the imagery source in writing with the client beforehand and discloses source, date and precision on the plat. A firm that already flies its own missions has one less subcontractor in that conversation.

Best For
- Best for a single commercial asset in the CT/NY/MA corner, where one accountable surveyor beats a coordinated national programme.
- Best where a deal crosses one of those state lines, since the alternative is usually two separate firms.
- Best where drone or LiDAR capture is wanted, given the in-house UAV and LiDAR stack and the 2026 imagery rules in Table A Item 15.
- Not the option for a large multi-state portfolio. Three states is not fifty, and a national programme needs one plat convention across the whole set.
- Thin public reputation base. Two Google reviews is not much to judge from, whatever the score. Ask for references on commercial ALTA work specifically, not on residential boundary jobs.

Typical Cost in DCL Surveying & Mapping, LLC's Markets
Benchmark ranges for a standard commercial parcel in the states this provider covers, so you can sanity-check a quote before you request one. These are market figures, not this firm's rates — it publishes none.
| State | ALTA survey |
|---|---|
| Connecticut | $3,750–$10,000 |
| New York | $4,200–$11,200 |
| Massachusetts | $3,900–$10,400 |
Ranges reflect state cost indices applied to national base pricing. Acreage, property type and the Table A items your lender requires move the final figure more than geography does — the cost calculator accounts for those.

Prices are what each firm publishes on its own website. "Quote only" means the firm offers the service and publishes no rate, which is the norm. "Our read" is our own three-way band across the customer review sources we hold for each firm, not any platform's score restated. Each provider page names the sources behind it.
